Monday Meditation--Laziness

September 30, 2013

I think God is tryin' to tell me somethin'...

...again.

I woke up about 3 a.m. and just couldn't get back to sleep. Not worried or upset--nothin' like that. Just AWAKE. So I got up and came to work on the computer for a time, since no one is up to need me to do anything right now.

As I stated last week, I want to get back on track with my posts, so today I'm workin' on Monday Meditations. I picked up my old King James Bible, and began to just flip through it, lookin' to see what the Holy Spirit might prompt me with. Ended up in the book of Proverbs.

Here's what my eye keeps fallin' on:

Proverbs 10:4 - He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Proverbs 19:24 - A slothful [man] hideth his hand in [his] bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
Proverbs 6:6 - Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Proverbs 6:9-11

9 How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?
10 [Yet] a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
11 So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.

Proverbs 13:4 - The soul of the sluggard desireth, and [hath] nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.
Proverbs 20:4 - The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; [therefore] shall he beg in harvest, and [have] nothing.
Proverbs 12:24 - The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.
Are ya seein' a pattern here?

Now, at first, I was a little confused, because I am pretty darned industrious most days. I try to keep busy and do everything that needs doin'.

However...

Lately I have been a TAD bit lazy when it comes to prayer and Bible study...

...yeah...

That in turn has led to my havin' not quite the attitudes I should...

...and then I get frustrated, overwhelmed and a 'little' burned out.

So, I guess my meditation for today is to spend time in prayer and the Scriptures to find out where God wants me to be right now, and what He wants me to be doin' when I get there.

So--where have YOU been lazy lately?

Well, I got chores. Later ya'll.
