Garage Sale Haul--I Win A Gift Card--What IS that Smell?

July 27, 2013

This is such a quiet weekend--I love it. We ran a couple of errands (gotta buy that horse and dog food, ya know), and did a few chores, but mostly we are just relaxin'.

Went to a garage sale this mornin', and I found two dvds for $1 each, along with a case of recordable cds for a $1. That was good, but then I saw a TOTAL GYM sittin' by the porch, and I asked the guy, just out of curiosity, how much he wanted for it.

He hemmed and hawed a bit, then asked me,

"Would $3 be okay?"

Now, inside, I was goin' "OH YEAH! SCORED THE BIG ONE TOOOODAY!!!!!!!YAHOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Outwardly, I said, "Yeah, sure, I can swing that."

Have you SEEN how much those things sell for retail? I have wanted one for years for upper body strength work, but just couldn't justify the cost.

I think I can justify the price in this case, don't you?

Okay--big news, I won a $50 gift card for postin' about an upcyclin' project I did on THE CHEAP LIFE channel on YOUTUBE. When I get it, I will have more than enough for the ink for my new printer. I TOLD Ya'll that God had somethin' worked out!

Well, after that excitement, we came home to finish up some tasks around the house, and then I began lunch. I was cookin' ground beef, onions and garlic together, fixin' up a mixture of chili powder, salt and other spices for what I call 'smish'.

I'm workin' away, hummin', and then I realize that I'm smellin' somethin' AWFUL. I can't smell the meat and veggies. Instead, I'm gettin' a whiff of somethin' like it's dead.

I'm thinkin', I KNOW that meat is good--what IS that smell?

Then I hear a 'swish' behind me. I turn and...

There sits Angel, my youngest female wolf, waggin' her tail across the floor, lookin' up at me with her head cocked, as if to ask, "When's lunch, mom?"

I lean closer to her, and realize it's HER I'm smellin'. And WHAT a SMELL. I had let her in earlier for a treat. I didn't get close enough to her to realize that she had found somethin' FASCINATIN' to roll in. Since she heads for under the bed as soon as she comes in, I hadn't been aware of the 'fragrance' she carried, until she smelled lunch cookin', and she decided to grace me with her presence.

Oh yeah--BATH TIME for her tonight. Till then, she is banned from the house. Plus, I have to finish disinfectin' under my bed...Thank heaven I have a hard floor, and not carpet!

Well, I got chores. Later ya'll.

New Book In The Works--YOUTUBE Trouble--Grav3yard Girl--Relaxin'

July 26, 2013

I finally get to post today, after two weeks of the local library bein' without internet--and after yet an even busier schedule than last time I had a lull in postin;.

Lessee, what all has happened? I've been workin' on my second book--WELL, I GOT CHORES, and I'm workin' on recordin' my first book for cd sales. Plus, I'm gettin' ready to do a few poems for videos on YOUTUBE.

Speakin' of YOUTUBE--they have messed up my channel, and now I type in my email, but it doesn't give me my channel. My channel, DixieBibleBabe still exists, but my email doesn't connect me to it. Instead, it made a new channel, based on my email address. Anybody know how to fix that?

Also, I have discovered a young woman on YOUTUBE who I think is just wonderful. Bunny Meyer, also known as grav3yard girl, is a hilarious person from Pearland, Texas. She does videos that are refreshin' and funny. She is what's called a 'Pastel Goth'--which I call "Spooky Cute"

Actually...why don't we just call it "A Style All Her Own". I mean, I figure I'm a "Cowgirl Biker Pastel Goth", but that is too many words, so I just say I wear what I like, and leave it at that.

I got to meet and hear a young cowboy gospel singer last Sunday at church. Rusty is a great talent, and his love for Jesus shines through everything he dings and says. I will be postin' a link to his site as soon as I get more info on him.

It's a rainy, quiet day here at our place, and we are relaxin' at the in-laws while they are on vacation. The guys are enjoyin' a little satellite tv while I do some computer work. We ain't gotta go nowhere today, so it's just gonna be a chillin' out kind of time.

Well, I got chores. Later ya'll.

Just Catchin' Up

July 15, 2013

After a very busy couple of weeks--we are slowin' down again, and I'm able to blog for a bit.

Hope ya'll had a safe and fun 4th of July--we spent the afternoon at an elder's house, havin' a great time. Food fun and fellowship were the key words that described our time there. Of course, when it got close to dark, we came home to see to our animals, since there would be fireworks all around us, and we wanted to make sure they didn't get hurt.

Things went well, and none of the horses panicked about the booms, pops, whizzes and bangs that went off around us--except when some idiot allowed his kids to DUEL WITH ROMAN CANDLES (seriously, that man ate a big bowl of STUPID for breakfast). Then they got antsy. We just stayed with them and kept lettin' know they were safe.

Okay, what else? Oh yeah, Eleanor is doin' great. A little over a month, and she is already back on her stationary bike, and she is able to use a walker. She even bought a WEIDER ULITMATE HOME GYM, and she is doin' a lot of upper body strength trainin'.

Obie and I went to work at her house last week, and she let me loose in her pantry, and I got it organized--it looks wonderful, and much more user friendly. She texted me that night to thank me for my organizational skills. I sent back, "No problem. I just need a way to justify my YOUTUBE addiction.

There may be big news comin' in a week or two--don't wanna say anything until I know more. I will ask for prayer for wisdom. You can never go wrong with prayers for wisdom!

Well, I got chores. Later folks
