Another Prayer Request

January 7, 2013

Thank you all for your prayers for the two men--we are still waiting for word on their condition. Today I have another request for another family.

If you recall, I have posted a few times about a friend who has been having trouble with custody of her two minor sons. Her ex-husband has sexually and otherwise abused all of her children at one time or another, and she has been trying so hard to protect her two children who are still at home. She has defied several court ordered visitations so he can't get hold of them, and it resulted in a trial for custodial interference.

The trial lasted several days, and the expert witnesses, the evidence--all of it was overwhelming proof that the boys were in danger if they were left in the father's care. When the trial was over, the judge stated that she would take her time to review all the evidence, then make her decision. Everyone--the mother's attorney, the detective who investigated the allegations of child molestation, the family physician who had testified to the danger the boys would be in--the older daughter who actually brought the charges against the father--ALL of them were convinced that the verdict would be in favor of the mother, as she was acting from a protective motive, not a vindictive one.

Well, last night I learned that the judge made her decision. She told the court that she had decided to completely discount any and all evidence, and that my friend was guilty as charged.

I am stunned beyond belief. Even my friend's attorney, who specializes in this type of family law, says she has NEVER seen anything like this happen before. The detective in charge of the investigation is shocked. The family violence advocate who testified, the doctor, everyone involved has no idea how this happened.

Now my friend is waiting for the date to be set for sentencing. She may end up being handcuffed and led from the courtroom to jail to spend 25 days, she faces fines of astronomical amounts, and she may be required to pay the father's legal fees.

Add to all this the fact that those two boys will be handed over to the monster who she has desperately been trying to protect them from. She can also lose any custody she had.

Yet, in the face of all this, she is calm and trusting the Lord for His mercy and grace. She is willing to go to jail if this will bring any of this truth to light.

So please, I am asking everyone who reads this to please pray for this family, that God will protect both the mother and the boys. That the truth will come out, and that these boys will be safe.

The Bible says,

Psalm 37: "1.Fret not thyself because of evildoers , neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.2. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb."

Psalm 37; "9 For evildoers shall be cut off : but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be."

Psalm 37: "12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming . 14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken ."

Psalm 37: "32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him. 33 The LORD will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged . 34Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off , thou shalt see it. 35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.36 Yet he passed away , and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found ."

Psalm 37: "38 But the transgressors shall be destroyedtogether: the end of the wicked shall be cut off . 39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble.40 And the LORD shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him."

I pray that the wickedness that this man does will not be allowed to harm these boys any longer. I pray that this mother, who is a Godly woman, will be protected and vindicated. I also pray for the father, that he will be delivered of this evil addiction to harm his children.

Please pray, and ask others to pray for this situation. I will let you know when the results are in.

Well, I got prayin' to do. Later ya'll.

  1. I found your blog through Marqueta's. As an adult survivor of childhood sexual abuse (my maternal grandfather from age 3 to 12), I will most certainly be praying for the children and mother that you have mentioned.
